Matt,
Sorry I can’t help..
I gave up on tinyg and moved on to other software/hardware and haven’t looked back as it did everything I needed, just plain worked right out of the box and hasn’t skipped a beat in 2 years running a few hours a day..mcgyvrMemberRun it with the spindle off/out of the way ( a few times)..
If it makes it through.. then you have a noise problem caused by the spindle. If it doesn’t it could be noise from stepper motor cabling or other sources still..
Do you have limit/homing switches wired? (disconnect them and try running the file)Are you stepper cables shielded?
Are your limit switch cables shielded?
I had bad noise issues with a V7 board and had to redo all wiring to shielded and add capacitors across the switch inputs for some additional filtering.mcgyvrMemberjust type $ in the coolterm and hit enter
or $$ to return all settingsmcgyvrMembersee diagram/comments on right side about fan. (bet you just don’t have the jumper in place)
Always a good idea to probe the pins with a multimeter to ensure you have the proper voltage.
https://github.com/synthetos/TinyG/wiki/1.01-TinyG-Start
You put the jumper across the middle pin and the 12V pin.mcgyvrMemberyeah hard to answer any of those questions with the details provided.
but yes you will ABSOLUTELY need a fan to blow on the tinyg board with 4 x Nema23 @ 3A..(50+ cfm blowing directly on the bottom)
mcgyvrMemberMatt,
You still around? Does this app work on the newer versions of tinyg firmware..
I tried it on 412.01 and it said connected but nothing really happens.. No status/no polling of tinyg configurations,etc..April 1, 2014 at 11:05 am in reply to: Tests with Updated tinyG and tgFX versions – Linux Environment #5728mcgyvrMemberI’m confused…
So is this a know issue in tinyg? or is this a machine specific mechanical issue (like missing steps due to mechanical issues/binding,etc..) or do they not know yet..I’ve seen this and sparkcrafters posts and can’t tell if the cause is known yet or if you guys are just over driving your machines and experiencing missed steps/backlash,etc..

mcgyvrMembernot alden/riley but when FW is loaded “factory defaults” come alive..
defa=1 is just a quick way to reset it all back to those defaults when you want to just say screw it and start fresh..
I’d suspect cswiger just had some setting incorrect.. As he has reset them we will never know what the problem is..After I adjust configs I’ll do a $$ and then copy all the settings to a text file to reference back to later..
mcgyvrMemberYou mean like this?
https://github.com/synthetos/TinyG/wiki/TinyG-StartmcgyvrMemberSounds good..thanks Alden..
mcgyvrMemberSo can I just download/run the edge version..Or ..I guess..have you done all necessary bug fixes,etc.. that you were intending to do to it?
Or what is your recommendation for me. I just want to load whatever version of the firmware/tgfx and be up and running as headache free as possible now.
mcgyvrMemberGuess not…
mcgyvrMemberIts just customerservice@synthetos.com
no “s” at the end of service..mcgyvrMembercmcgrath,
Here is your code backplotted in my HSM Express editor..
Quick glance looks perfect to me..
