There isn’t really a problem with having a TinyG and using a dual motor y setup and rotational axis, I have this setup.
I have a 4 pin terminal socket wired to Motor 4 and a 4 pin terminal plug wired to one of the y axis motors and another to the rotational axis so I can easily switch between the two as you don’t need the y axis when your using the rotational axis.
Apart from this you just have to change which axis motor 4 is mapped to and a few of its settings and disable the other y motor when using the rotational axis, this can be done quickly via the Chillipeppr settings.

maraMemberI have the same issue, I had the constant spdir flashing before but was able to fix with avrdude but running it this time got the same error as per this threads title!
Reported the issue via link above, has anyone been able to fix their tinyG?
maraMemberAnswer to problem;
I wasn’t aware that turning off the 3D viewer helps a larger file to run so much more easily.
Also, I overlooked the fact that I have only 2 GB of ram.
maraMemberThanks for reply, Updating the firmware in Chillipeppr to 440.18 corrected the settings for the 4th motor as a rotary axis.
maraMemberFound a post by cswiger who had the same issue with a new tinyG straight out of the box;
his solution of entering the reset to factory defaults command ; $defa=1
worked for me too.

maraMemberHi, I am looking for help please. I have been following the Github instructions but cannot get the stepper motors to move.
The blue and red lights are ON on the board and sending jogging commands via Coolterm green lights come on so the board seems to be working fine.
I am using Nema 17 and 23 Bipolar motors and have repeatedly checked the wires are connected properly and set the motors to their axis but the motors are not winding after sending a jogging command.
Adjusting the trimpots doesn’t make any difference, the motors are able to move freely when pushed with the board ON so it seems they are simply not
engaging with the board, I could not update the firmware.[fb] firmware build 440.14
[fv] firmware version 0.97
[hp] hardware platform 1.00
[hv] hardware version 8.00Thank You in advance for any advice.
