Well I am glad you got it working.  However, this is not really something we support.  Its your board however!  Knock yourself out.  But from our standpoint it introduces a bunch of issues with support etc!

I am glad its working for you, and we are interested in seeing what you do with it.

Sorry about that. BTW. I THOUGHT I had replied to this.  Apparently not!

There was a mix-up on my part on the documentation.  I though it was done.  It was not.  I took a first pass on this tonight.  Please keep in mind that it is not 100% done.  But the wiring parts should be fine to get you powered up!

Just remember to read the fan section very carefully.  If its not clear please let me know.  I want to make sure that is a “no brainer”.

What do you mean by 15-16 hours?  Can you describe the movements on z? I see that you have a shapoko.  I too got a shapeoko and my Z was so tight thatall it did was bind when moving it.  I had to re tap it.  I removed a lot of material on the delrin nut.  Then it started working fine.

    Thanks,

BTW we are getting close to being hit with a hurricane I am not sure when we will have power again.  So please do not think I am ignoring you.

Whoops!  I did 200 of these mods in 1 sitting.  I tested them all too!  I would bet that it was a “hair line” connection that did not register when I checked it..  Sorry about that. Great! that you go it working.

    Rick,

Cool. Let us know what happens with alibre.  Cambam will output codes that will just “work” with TinyG.  Nothing special is needed really.   They offer a trial too!  So get it and see how it works.  It does take about 1 afternoon to sit down and figure it out.  There are other gcode “generators”

    http://sketchuppluginreviews.com/2010/04/30/phlatscript-google-sketchup-plugin-review/

and the inkscape plugin (which I have had “mixed results”

I will say that if you can make a svg / dxf and want minimal “hacking” Cambam is the way to go.  I do not have a problem buying cambam. Its totally worth the money.  However if you are a big Open Source fan try the ones above.

keypad,  we are sending you a different board.  However just to make it clear when someone asks “what motor do you have?” NEMA 17 is not a valid answer.
You are giving us the size of the motor.  Not what “kind” or motor.  Each stepper motor has specific characteristics as well.. Step angle, holding torque, etc.

I understand it can be frustrating if your having issues but at the same time we are asking these questions to try to help you 🙂

    Colecago,

Can you explain this to me?

So until that is finalized, an option to set limits only on an axis would be nice.

I am not quite sure I follow what you are asking for.

It seems to work for me:

    $1tr
    [1tr] m1_travel_per_revolution 1.800 mm
    tinyg[mm] ok> tinyg[mm] ok> $1tr=1.25
    [1tr] m1_travel_per_revolution 1.250 mm

    tinyg[mm] ok> tinyg[mm] ok> $1tr
    [1tr] m1_travel_per_revolution 1.250 mm

How is it behaving for you?  Or more specifically why do you think it is not taking affect instantly?

    Thanks!

    kkannan,

Yes, some settings do not take affect.  In fact Alden and I were just talking about one of those 2 days ago.  The pm (power management mode) will not be “applied” until a move is issued.  We are going to be changing this one to apply right away.  If you find some other that you think should also be applied right away toss them up in a reply and we can take a look at them.

Those meanwells look very nice. But I agree it looks like a bit much for the 5v supply 🙂

    zbird,

Did you change any of your settings on grbl? You can try to re-flash the board. If this does not work. Lets just get it replaced.

Email us at… synthetos at gmail.com and we can go from there.
