Yeah, I just realized about the amps. I completely forgot about that. I am getting ready to rewire everything. I was wanting to put a 4th axis on but it wasn’t really that important.
Thanks for the help…
LchampagMemberThat was supposed to look like the board, showing the power input to the left. the 4 5 6 are the pins closest to the edge 123 behind it.
LchampagMember1 2 3
pwr + _ 4 5 6 (fan pins)I get 12 volts when connecting 1 & 3 and 3 & 6. And 24 volts when connecting 1 &6. Nothing on the middle pins? I’m going to go with 1&3 I guess that is alright… Thanks again…

LchampagMemberThanks, you guys have been life savers so far. Hopefully sometime down the road I’ll be able to help someone else out.
LchampagMemberOk thanks guys. I’ll try to figure this stuff out later.
One more quick question here instead of cluttering up the forum with stupid questions lol…
When wiring an estop button up. Do I connect only the live wire to the switch or the ground too? I read somewhere that you should only use the live wire because otherwise it could discharge power through the usb port or something. Is that right?
LchampagMemberThanks for all your patience CMC. I started getting that timeout message again in tgFX so maybe that had something to do with it. I don’t know.
LchampagMemberAnother update. Maybe I am just ignorant. I loaded a whole g-code file and ran it. Everything worked just like it should have. Maybe I was typing in a command wrong or something. Don’t know why it would have worked for just the z axis though and not the other.
Is there like a cheat sheet for manual commands somewhere.
LchampagMemberOk now I just have no idea what is going on. I hit the home axis button on tgFX and every motor worked… But still can’t get them to work with a single command…
LchampagMemberDon’t know if this matters but near the end of the command the motors will move just a tad bit.
LchampagMemberI am using one of the default configs in tgFX. The dual Y config. Do I need to adjust a setting somewhere to account for the nema23’s? Again I’m sorry, I am in way over my head. At this point if I could get my money back I probably would. Since that isn’t an option I guess I am stuck trying to learn all this stuff. lol.
LchampagMemberOMG thank you so much. Seriously. I had to type that command in tgFX within the couple of seconds before it disconnected, but it worked. Everything looks fine now.
I still can’t connect to CoolTerm but that is probably something I messed with while trying to get this thing to work because at one point it did work.
So is this not normal? Should I try to send back the Tinyg or do you think it will be ok in the future.
Anyways thanks so much!
LchampagMemberYeah I am selecting the port, then I hit connect. It just sets there for a few seconds. I can type in a command for motors during these few seconds and it will work. It is like it is connected for those few seconds but then I get a message that it has timed out. The message says that my firmware might be out of date or wrong port. So I go to machine settings and try to update. There is lights flashing all over the board during this time. And then again the same message pops up. It does take it a little longer to pop up at this point.
Last night I was able to connect to CoolTerm but not tgFX. Now I can’t even connect to CoolTerm. I get an error message that says “an error occured while attempting to open the port, 102:invalid option”
I am about to just give up… Thanks again for the help.
LchampagMemberWindows 7 64 bit
tinyg v8
I had tgfx 3259, I just tried 3256 also and got the same thingWill be connecting to shapeoko 2
When I hit update firmware online in tgfx the D3,D4, and D7 flash red for a little bit and then it flashes all the green lights but after that I still get the timed out error. The message says I might have outdated firmware then has an option for me to update firmware. I click on that and the process just repeats itself.
Thank you so much for the help!
