Where was the machine when a switch triggered?

My system uses G28.4 for probing*. I get the position where the probing process ends. I'd like to know where the probe was when the switch triggered. I know the speed and jerk values. I guess my question is really "From jerk and speed, how long is the deceleration distance?"

(*The G28 is from old times. I could change to G38, but the question would still be the same. My program can apply the distance equation to the latch clearance travel also.)

I see no obvious way to generate a status at the precise instant contact is made.
Have you looked at the PCB Board leveling Macro in Chilipeppr?
I would seem that that macro has figured how how to methodically gather the data you are looking for.
