TinyG unresponsive again

Hello,

I'm having issue with my board. It's being unresponsive to serial command (using my own application, or coolterm). The board is on, and the red light (not sure which one, I can't open my enclosure right now) is constantly flashing every seconds as soon as the board is on (or even immediatly after a reset).
When sending serial commands, the RX led is blinking correctly on the board, and I double checked my sent command using a spy on the serial port : they are correct.

I've been using it for a while now to develop my TinyG control application, but suddenly it does not respond.
Does the red light describe an know issue I've been missing ?

I had to reinstall the firmware, but I'd like to avoid doing this every few weeks...

Hello,

I tried to reinstall the firmware, but avrdude cannot connect to the programmer.

C:\Program Files\arduino-1.0.4>avrdude -p x192a3 -P com4 -c avr109 -b 115200 -U flash:w:tinyg.hex

Connecting to programmer: .avrdude: butterfly_recv(): programmer is not responding

C:\Program Files\arduino-1.0.4>

I'm under Windows 7, using board v7. I already did that before on this thread :

This sounds like what was happening to the old version of the bootloader. Do you have a AVRISP MKII? If you do I would reflash the xboot.hex and apply THESE settings:

If you do not lets have you send this board back and get it re-flashed and the fuses set right.

Hello,

Thanks for the answer. I do not have the AVRISP MKII programmer. I think I'll buy one because it's always useful. I live in France so I'm afraid the shipping cost will be more than the price of a programmer...

Ok I tried with AVR Studio 4 and got the error while trying to read fuses :

"The selected device does not support ISP programming"

Is that normal ??

Ok I forgot to chose the device as ATxmega192A3...
