I have a TinyG v8 with firmware build 380.08. I'm trying to use inches on the Y-axis (motor 2) and degrees on the A-axis (motor 4), so I'm running in inch mode. I was having lots of trouble getting the A-axis to move as far or as fast as commanded by a factor of about 25, and the position reported was also low by a factor of 25.4 (which tipped me off to the conversion thing). I have 100:1 gear reduction, so I set $4tr to 3.6 inches (yes, the Wiki says degrees, but the TinyG says inches). When I enter G21 to switch to mm mode, $4tr is reported as 91.44 mm (should be degrees). When I set $4tr to 3.6 in mm mode, the A-axis works as expected.
So it appears that in inches mode, the TinyG applies the mm to inch conversion factor to the rotational parameters as well. Now that I know the problem, I can sort-of work around it, but it would be much better if this were fixed.
Is this a known bug? Any plans to fix it?
