So, I’m trying to learn to use the tinyG on a ox I am building. That has been challenge enough, but my laptop dies and I have to get a new one. I am suddenly thrust into the world of windows 10 (the old laptop was 7). Now when I fire up the new laptop I load SPJS for Chilipeppr and it tells me there are no serial ports. I figure maybe if I plug in the tinyG to one of the usb ports, it will work. No such luck. Still no serial ports.

Is there a driver I need to load on Windows 10 in order to connect to the tinyG? A cable?

With earlier versions of Windows it was reported that some folks needed to track down an FTDI driver for windows. (FTDI is the USB to serial device use on tinyG)
I run Win10 (in a virtual Machine) and it ‘just works’ without additional drivers.

In case you want to try it anyway, here is a link:

When you load SPJS (version =?), SPJS actually interfaces to tinyG from the Win10 environment. I have run SPJS (ver 1.86) on Win10 successfully with no additional drivers.

Try this – shutdown SPJS,then reboot your windows machine.
Plug in tinyG to USB port.
You should see a Com port enumerated for the new FTDI device (that is what Win sees).
