Suitable power supply for grbl shield

    Hi,

    I am using grblshield with a shapeoko 2. I’ve got the parts to upgrade from nema 17 to nema 23, but I have a power supply with the following specs:

    0/48 vdc (variable voltage)
    300 watts

    The stepper x/y stepper motors are nema 23 (2.5A, 156 oz/in) and the z axis is a stock nema 17.

    My question is, would the power supply be suitable if I tune it to supply 24 volts only? I am no sure my calculation is right but I assume the amps would be (300/24 = 12.5 amps).
