A nice addition to the GRBL Shield would be a pre-programmed chip to make it a bit easier to get things working the first time.

I agree. We are thinking about either making a pre-programmed 328 DIP chip available, or just selling a pre programmed Arduino – possibly both. Do you have a preference? There’s less chance for an inexperienced user to have problems with the pre-programmed Arduino, but of course it would cost more.

Also, we are planning to put motor plug kits and some neat heat sinks for sale on the site as well.

I agree. We are working out how to do this now.

Either option would work – depending on whether you already have the board, or the right board.

The thought I had was that having a preprogrammed chip means that I won’t have to come up with the extra hardware to put that code in it the first time. I do have the source and have gotten it to compile.

Kind of like the chips you can buy with the Arduino loader pre-loaded.

Would it be possible to buy the 328 chip with GRBL flashed onto it?

Or could I mail my Arduino to you folks and perhaps you could flash the existing 328 chip in the arduino?

Or would the only option be purchase a arduino already flashed?

I have purchased a AVR Programmer and ruined it as far as I can tell by trying to update the firmware. So I am at a dead end again in my project.

I am looking forward to using the GRBL shield that I purchased from you, but I am in over my head it seems in getting it running.

    Sincerely ,
