    Hello,

I’m working on project to swap old DOS powered plasma control system and servo motor drive to TinyG with stepper motors.

I have X a Y axes working already. Waiting for new gears, belt and switches for Z axis and air driven probe tool.

However there is one problem that I cant deal with. Is there any way to use THC (torch height controller) with TinyG? I’m using an older model of ForCUT 100 from Formica

    Thank you for any tips.

My Czech not very good(non-existant, actually 🙂 ).
Aware of any references in English available?
    Google Translate not much help.

It would seem likely you will need I/O that tinyG does not have on-board.
Some folks are using RasPi 2 in conjunction with tinyG.

What do you plan to use to support CAM and GUI?
There is some integration of control via RasPi in Chilipeppr.

Hello, long time no see 🙂

I have my plasma cutter working now, but still without THC function.

I have an idea of how to make it working and some tips would be more than welcome. I’m going to connect tinyG’s J19 output -> Promo Elektronika Compact THC SD -> external driver for Z axis.

I’m using Nema 23 with integrated planetary gearbox for Z axis. Can you recommend me external driver, which is verified to work with tinyG please?

I will post full documentation of my system as soon as its finished. Thank you!

    I have no direct experience.
Gecko 540 drivers are talked about a lot, you may need 3.3V to 5V logic converters.
There is a lot of action/new products in this arena.
Units compatible with Step/Dir interface used by tinyG should work, but you will have to research interface specifications.
