So, the grblShield is getting power, from a Markwell 24v supply, and the blue power LED is lit. Grbl is able to recieve commands, and the UniversialGCodeSender seems to be talking with it without problems, but the motors don’t do anything. The green motor LEDs don’t light (except when I spin the steppers by hand then they light up), and while the grbl thinks that it’s moving, nothing seems to happen.
I’m using a seeedunio v2.21 and the v5 grblShield. I haven’t changed any of the setting yet.
(also, is it ok to run the grblShield with less than 3 steppers connected? just curious)
I’m wiring the steppers directly to the shield, no blocks or other wires to check.

You will need to change the power jumper. Some Seeeduinos are not an Arduino R3 pinout, even though they have an 8 pin power rail. Please refer to this page:
    https://github.com/synthetos/grblShield/wiki/gShield-v5-Notes

You will need to move the soldered jumper on J11 from the left position to the right position to get the 5v power from the Seeeduino to the shield.

Thanks! I’ll give that a shot!
