Tagged: Error Message
Ran a couple of 1 hour jobs this morning (smooth sailing).
I’ve never had problems with limit switch function but now getting:
{“er”:{“fb”:440.18,”st”:204,”msg”:”Limit switch hit – Shutdown occurred”}}
I can’t tell if there is an indication of a specific switch in this message.
The error pops up at different times in the file I’m now trying to run.
Checked all physical connections at board and switches. No recent changes and all look sound.
Anyone have suggestions?
D0 you have Limit switches enabled?
Could be noise triggering them.
Is it suddenly real dry (low relative humidity) in your shop?
Could be ESD between spindle and work piece.
Thanks – I thought noise might be the culprit too. Moved some wires around and it hasn’t occurred again. Dry here most of the time. Those two one hour jobs were acrylic. Maybe static related to material? My first time cutting acrylic on this machine.
Reference I recall was related to milling plastic of some sort.
IF you had a dust shoe (etc.), perhaps a grounded metal wool ‘skirt’ would help?
Problem is back!
Cutting position is no where near limit switches. Deadline for parts I’m cutting looming. Help!
Best I can do is replace a switch. If I only knew which one. Does the “240” in error message indicate anything in this regard?

Do you really need Limit switches for this job?
Does shutting them off resolve the issue?
Are you milling Acrylic?
A quick look here:
does not add any additional insight, 204 is just a message index
Thanks!
I disabled all switches and ran the job. Set xyz minimums to home only and will test that in the morning.
By the way, I replaced the switch wiring with shielded cables and that did correct the problem.
