In the middle of a run – very small part – it just died. LEDs turned off, fan still running. I can connect CoolTerm, but no response. The little coil near the reset button is HOT to the touch. Resetting does nothing.
The fan runs from it’s own dc regulator.
Other components run from a cascade of regulators at various voltages.
The hot inductor is at the the top of that cascade – some device failed and the regulator is delivering too much current into a short.
