I was wondering to improve performance if I can run 2 steppers on one of the outputs of the grbshield I have NEMA 24 motors with 24 volt supply that was the prefered one from Amazon. The steppers have 2.0 volts per phase and 2.7 amps per phase? My CNC is larger than the Shapeoko frame and assume that having a dual drive would help the motion and improve performance moving.

I eventually will have 4 steppers running of the grblshield…

I was assuming that i could attach the leads and turn the 2 steppers in the same direction…

You can run 2 steppers from 1 driver, but it will be at reduced power. The steppers you ere driving are already at the edge of grblShield’s drivers (rated for 2.5 amps). You could experiment with series and parallel configs and see if that works for you. You should be careful of chip heating and may need to fan cool the board.
