    Hi,

Just want to share a little trick I used to connect my steppers to the shield.

As I didn’t have any of the female connectors needed to plug my motors on the
shield and didn’t want to spend 5 times the price of the connectors in shipping
cost on an online parts supplier I found a pretty easy and efficient way to
    connect the steppers.

I made a little tutorial here.

Hope it can help some people struggling to find the connectors. (Or maybe you could
ship the Grblshield with 3 female connectors?)

I picked mine up at Jameco.

I bought 10 connectors and 50 of the pins. $6.50 wasn’t bad and I picked up some other stuff while I was ordering.

Of course that doesn’t help you that much from Switzerland 🙂

We realize the problem and apologize for your inconvenience. We will begin selling the connectors in kits on the site so they can be packed with the order.

We also have located some really nice copper heatsinks that we also want to make available in kits. We’ve found that the TI drivers actually do quite well without any external heatsinking as the boards have as much copper as we could get – given the limited footprint of a shield. But the heatsinks extend that range a bit further.

If there are any other parts you think would be helpful, please let us know.

Ah no problem, it’s all part of the game anyway 🙂 my motors are working great with the shield now, I’m using small NEMA17 motors and the drivers stay really cool. Now Im taking care of the cnc mechanics build but in the future I’ll upgrade to the right connectors.

If you have some connectors/pins lying around would you send me some via cheap letter postage (id pay via paypal)?
