I reported a bug a bit ago and it has been fixed in the edge build 440.13, but I can’t find a hex file for that build (or newer). When I go to the download page, http://synthetos.github.io/, I don’t see it. All I see is 438.02.
So, is there someplace that I can find a ready-made 440.13 (or newer) edge build, or do I have to install dev tools and compile it myself?
Thanks
February 25, 2015 at 6:45 am #7458cmcgrath5035ModeratorI think the simple answer is “yes, if you want the latest edge build, be prepared (and capable)building yourself”.
Based on comments, and requests from the devs for ‘unique’ Gcodes for testing, I expect we will soon see a build released at or above 440.13 as the testing barrage completes and is declared successful.February 25, 2015 at 10:20 am #7459JimMemberSo your thought is that because of the items in 440.13 (I’m waiting for power management bug fixes), that it may soon be pushed up as some sort of “official” edge release and posted to the aforementioned download page.
Any feel for time frame? (days, weeks, month or more). Knowing as least a ballpark time frame will help me determine the “pain level” I will be willing to try compiling the build myself. Is TinyG easy to brick if I screw something up???

I have never tried building tinyG.
I did manage to brick a tinyGv9. Build went OK, but due to a compiler error the binary was bad. I had purchased an Atmel-ICE for such events, but then found that the latest release of Atmel Studio 6.2 had a bug and would not interface with ICE! Read this if you need to head down this path:Simple answer? Probably.
I do believe tinyG is a bit tougher, cleaner separation between connectivity and bootloader. In G2, the USB code is part of the binary.
Do have a backup plan.February 25, 2015 at 12:29 pm #7461JimMemberThanks for the answer. That’s what I needed to know–I’ll wait for my bug fix to be rolled out into a pre-made hex file…
Thanks!
February 26, 2015 at 7:16 am #7465aldenMemberWe’ll get that posted to the download page shortly. Sorry for the delay.

FW 440.13 has posted atFebruary 26, 2015 at 8:07 am #7470RileyKeymasterAlso,
Our new updater for tinyg is available for download. It has been tested on windows and osx. I have been using it for the past few months without any real trouble. Check it out here:https://github.com/synthetos/TinyG-Updater/releases
We do not have a linux binary at the moment however.

I see that 440.13 has been posted. I will probably get a chance to do the update this evening. As I don’t have any prior experience with doing the updates, I will try the method that Riley just posted about.
Thanks
