I spent a bit of time modifying some normally closed switches for the x and y axis of my ShapeOko only to realize after they are both well configured that the Hall Effect sensor I’m trying now to configure as a z-max homing switch, only works as far as TinyG is considered as a normally closed switch. Typically I believe it would be considered a normally open switch since it provides Vin to the sense pin when open and ground when closed, but as TinyG is configured to use internal pullups, the expected states are therefore reversed, meaning if you followed the recommended best practice of using normally closed mechanical switches your are then, I believe, SOL if you want to bring a Hall Effect sensor into the mix.
