I have a tinyG v8 That I need to drive a mechanical relay to turn on a laser diode.

I purchased one of the SSR’s from you guys, but the TinyG cannot close that one either, even though the LED turns on.

I was told that the TinyG sends out 3v for SpinOn but the neither the mech nor the SSR will close.

I am wondering if my TinyG could be bad? It sends 3v according to the meter, but it is not strong enough to close the relays.

Does the PWM also switch on to a max of 3v?

    HELP!

You might have a look at the responses in this old post

I have the same SSR sitting here, but have not tried to use it so have no first hand suggestions

except that thread is open without a response from Alden/Riley on how to proceed without having to cobble up a relay driver…

We are looking into this. I think what happened is we received a batch of relays that do not fire at 3v (in spite of their specs). We aim to replace these, or barring that at least refund. We are sorry for the inconvenience – I don’t know how this slipped through.

And what is the PWM voltage?

PWM is also 3 to 3.2 volts, as are all outputs. The processor is a 3.3v process, that’s why.
