    Hi

I am looking for suggestions as to which software to use to generate G-code. I am building a JGRO and going to use the TinyG.

I am hoping to do is create the design in Sketchup and output to a STL file using the appropriate Plugin.  Load that into Freemill and out put the G-code.  The issue that I have is that FreeMill has a whole lot of pre defined CNC Machines and no visible way of creating a “custom” machine that would match the JGRO/TinyG combo.

Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated, keeping in mind that I am new at this. Also I would like to use open source/free software.

    TIA

    Tony

Well,  I dont like the opensource gcode creators.  That being said there is pyCam and phlatscript.  If you are serious about milling I would pickup cambam. Its not super expensive but its nice.  There is a free trial too.
